Texas Society Of the Virgin Islands Chili Cook-Off
The Texas Society of the Virgin Islands, The Virgin Pod, is having its 22nd annual chili cook-off beginning at noon, on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Bolongo Beach, St. Thomas.
Cooks can register up until 6 p.m. the previous evening at the cooks BBQ. Turn in for competition chili is noon on Sunday when the gates open. Awards are announced at 4:30 p.m. and the bands will play until 5:30 p.m.
This years Chili Village brings in more than $30,000 each year for "on-island" charities and will be dedicated to the memory of George Marsh, one of the original founders of the event.
