March 7, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM, Sunday, March 12, form 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This Sunday, you will be entertained by Volume 2 of the American Folk Blues Festival, Abi Tapia, Big Happy, James Taylor, Sarah Harmer and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "American Folk Blues Festival 1962-69, Vol. 2". This CD includes an amazing assortment of live in-concert recordings by some of the greatest legendary blues artists, including Big Mama Thornton, Howling Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Dixon and more. These recordings are from appearances these artists made in Europe.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "One Foot Out the Door" from singer-songwriter Abi Tapia, another exciting talent from the musically rich city of Austin, Texas.
We include music from the Big Happy, who will be appearing in the Virgin Islands beginning March 8 and from both James Cotton and the Nighthawks, who appear at this year's Coors Light St. John Blues Festival.
We also celebrate the birthdays of James Taylor and Paul Kantner of the Jefferson Airplane.
We will play new music from Bobby Bare, modern folk artist Sarah Harmer, Jules Shear, Susan Tedeschi and others.
We also include music from Muddy Waters, Sean Costello, the Drive By Truckers, acoustic blues-man Paul Oscher and more.
Tune in for a chance to win the latest CD from Echo and the Bunnymen and a new CD from blues artist John Long.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, Molly Molones, and Steve Simon and the Coors Light St. John Blues Festival.
