'The Art Show' to Feature Works of Newcomer Debbie Daise

March 8, 2006 – The works of island newcomer, Debbie Daise, will be presented at "The Art Show" Friday night at Alexander's Bella Blu.
The show, dubbed "Introduction" offers an exhibit of original paintings and giclees from Daise, who arrived on St. Thomas from Texas in October.
Daise brings with her 10 years of painting experience, along with her personal philosophy, which says "art is a spiritual transaction, the marriage of the conscious with the unconscious in silent ceremony." Claire Ochoa, owner of Gallery St. Thomas and coordinator of the exhibit says Daise's artistic expression is diversified, and that Daise believes "creativity has no bounds."
Within her body of work, Daise is best known for her flower impressions, Ochoa says. The exhibit focuses on her floral acrylic and oil originals, several floral giclee reproductions to canvas, and a sampling of her abstract work. Daise exhibited in Dallas, Texas prior to moving to St. Thomas and her artwork has been included in several Horchow and, most recently, Nieman Marcus catalogues.
The "Introduction" exhibit is the second opening for "The Art Show" 2006 series at Bella Blu. It kicks off with an art lover's reception with champagne and appetizers from 5 to 7 p.m.
All work is for sale. The exhibit will run through May 4 and is open to the public. For more information contact "The Art Show" coordinator, Gallery St. Thomas at 340-777-6363 or online at www.GalleryStThomas.com.
