March 10, 2006 – The Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands (DRCVI), formerly Virgin Islands Advocacy Incorporated Inc., announced that Curt Decker, executive director of the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN), would be visiting the V.I. on Wednesday, March 15. As executive director of the nation's largest non-governmental enforcer of disability rights, Decker oversees all activities relating to training, technical assistance and legislative advocacy. He currently chairs the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD), a coalition of over 100 national disability groups.
While visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands, he will meet with the staff, advisory council and governing board of the DRCVI and will learn about issues that are of concern to the disability community in the territory.
For more information, contact DRCVI at 772-1200.
