VI Hotel Association to Spread Good News

0

April 3, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Hotel Association and partners are visiting travel agents in Boston, Long Island, New Jersey, and Philadelphia in the North, and Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale in the South. The presentations update agents on traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands, accommodation and activity options and news of interest to clients, at a time when consumers are thinking about summer and fall vacations.
In the Northeast, over 250 top agents from GoGo, Travel Impressions and CTO Chapters have enjoyed the events, which featured a PowerPoint and video presentation, mini-trade show, steel band music, and dinner. The Department of Tourism joined the HTA as well as representatives from Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Caneel Bay, Chenay Bay, Frenchman's Reef Marriott, Secret Harbour Beach Resort, Westin Resort, and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa, according to a press release from HTA.
The Association heads south in mid-April to meet with agents from Spirit Airlines and LibGo in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. With the inauguration of Spirit Airlines service into St. Thomas late last year, it's a unique opportunity to feature the current travel incentives for the destination. Representatives from the Department of Tourism will join the Hotel and Tourism Association on the blitz.
Additional promotional efforts are planned for later in the year including participation in the annual International Pow Wow trade show sponsored by the Travel Industry of America and the Caribbean Tourism Association's Caribbean Week in New York.
