Khalid Pickering Given Management Position With Supermarket Chain


St. Croix, has been appointed store manager for Hannaford Supermarkets' New Windsor, N.Y. store.
Pickering began his career with Hannaford in 2000, as a retail management trainee in Albany, New York, a release from Hnnaford said. Upon completion of the program he served as assistant store manager for the East Greenbush, Milton and Saratoga, New York stores. Most recently, Pickering held the assistance store manger position at the Wappingers Falls store in Dutchess County, N.Y.
Pickering was born and raised on St. Croix. He graduated from The Good Hope School in Frederiksted in June 1996.
He attended Delaware State University in Dover, Del., where he graduated Summa cum Laude in May of 2000, with a Bachelor of Science degree. Pickering majored in hospitality management and minored in business administration. While attending Delaware State University Pickering was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta and Alpha Kappa Mu honor societies.
In his spare time Khalid loves to travel back home to spend time with family, friends and his beloved beach. He is a sports enthusiast, more specifically, a huge basketball fanatic and loves to watch his fellow Virgin Islander Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs win Championships!
