What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

0

April 18, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM, Sunday, April 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This Sunday we feature Dr. John, Carol Ames, Davis Murray, Roy Orbison and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Right Place, Right Time" by Dr. John. While this is a new release, it is a live recording from a Dr. John concert at Tipitina's back in 1989. This is the first time this show has been released on vinyl or CD and is a typically great Dr. John show loaded with New Orleans funk and blues.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Shades of Indigo" from an exciting new singer-songwriter with just the right amount of country twang. Her name is Carol Ames and she recently had a good write up in the Roots Music Report.
We play music from local artists Davis Murray and Morgan Rael, who will be among the performers at the Arts Alive Fair on May 6 and May 7 at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas.
We include new music from the eclectic and rootsy Marley's Ghost, blues artist Sandy Carroll, folk artist Karen Savoca, acoustic blues artist Guy Davis and more.
We also include music from Terri Hendrix, John Hammond, Mavis Staples, Rodney Crowell and others.
We celebrate the birthdays of blues great Calvin Owens, the late, great Roy Orbison, folk singer Jeannie Burns, and Sue Demel, who is a member of the group Sons of the Never Wrong.

Tune in for a chance to win a CD release from birthday boy and blues artist Calvin Owens and a chance to win a combo CD and DVD from Don McLean.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, and Molly Molones.
