April 25, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM, Sunday, April 30, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This Sunday we feature the Little Willies, Cornell Hurd Band, Janiva Magness, Frankie Lymon and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is the "Little Willies" by the band known as the Little Willies. This is a side project for Norah Jones, who is joined on the disc by, among others, singer-songwriter Richard Julian. Lee Alexander of Norah's band is not only a member of the Little Willies, but produced the CD, which has a country sound.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Texas by Night," the latest release from Austin, Texas roots country's Cornell Hurd Band. This band has a great sense of humor and is quite eclectic in its repertoire.
We include new music from Willie Nelson, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, blues artist Janiva Magness and more.
We play music from St. Thomas favorites, Harmony Dem, who will be one of the acts performing at the Arts Alive Fair the weekend of May 6 and 7.
We also include music from Rory Block, the Bel Airs, Doc Watson, Irma Thomas, Bob Dylan and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Willie Nelson, Mimi Farina, and Johnny Horton.
We remember folk singer and poet Richard Farina, Frankie Lymon, and blues great Muddy Waters on the anniversary of their deaths.

Tune in for a chance to win a CD sampler featuring new music from blues diva Etta James and for a chance to win the new CD from the Subdudes. Keb Mo produced their latest effort.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker, and Molly Molones.
