May 22, 2006 – Jazz vocalist Venus will be featured from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 27, at the Beach Side Café. Her next performance at the Beach Side Café will be in October.
Venus began her career in New York City, where she lived for a number of years. Her first solo album was "Night Rider" or, as she calls it, her first adventure in the world of disco.
But the true depth of Venus is found in what she likes to call "world jazz." It is a soulful jazz, straight from the heart, and that is where it will hit you when you hear her perform.
Venus was voted "Best Singer/Entertainer" on St. Croix for 2006, by the readers of the Virgin Islands Daily News.
The Beach Side Café will be featuring fresh, local fish as well as prime rib. Make your reservations for dinner and join them for an evening of fine food, jazz vocals and musicianship at sunset in Frederiksted. Beach seating is available by reservation.
