Owners of Abandoned Vehicles to Receive Fines after Removal

July 8, 2006–The Abandoned Vehicle and Beautification Task Force will soon be launching a full-scale operation to remove more than 40 vehicles from the Tutu High Rise Community.
The vehicles are in the vicinity of buildings three, four, five and seven.
The last registered owners of the vehicles will be held responsible for the vehicles in the area, said James O'Bryan, the task force's chairman, in a news release. "Liens of $250 will be placed against future registrations of any of the vehicles," he said, adding that the government could also bring charges against the vehicle's owners.
O'Bryan said Tutu High Rise residents should come forward and identify the operator of a "blue flat bed truck" responsible for dumping 14 abandoned vehicles in the community on July 3.
"It is our intention to pursue this matter in order to prevent such actions from reoccurring in the future," O'Bryan said.
