0

July 18, 2006 — Tune into the Doug Lewis Snow on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23. This Sunday we will feature Blackmore's Night, Mikki Brisk and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "The Village Lanterne" by Blackmore's Night. This group was formed by former Deep Purple member Ritchie Blackmore and his wife Candace Night. The group has a very different sound from Deep Purple as there is a strong medieval music influence in their sound and Night has a lovely voice.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Distance and Miles" by Mikki Brisk who has a true country voice and she wrote all of the songs on this CD.
We celebrate the birthdays of bluegrass star Alison Krauss and Rascals drummer Dino Danelli. We also remember Grateful Dead keyboard player Keith Godchaux on the anniversary of his death.
We include new music from blues artist Joey Gilmore, a new exceptional CD from Elvis Costello and Alan Toussaint, Charlie Musselwhite, Scottish folk singer Dougie MacLean, Josh Ritter and more.
We also include music from Delbert McClinton, Pinetop Perkins, Neil Young, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chuck Berry and more.
Tune in for a chance to win a copy of a blues CD from Lew Jetton & 61 South, a new CD release by contemporary folk artist Darcie Miner, and a package of three CDs by the outstanding Irish instrumentalist, Sharon Shannon.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker and Molly Molones.
