Oct. 19, 2006 – The University of the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center presents a seminar, "Writing an Effective Business Plan The Financial," as part of its fall seminar specials. It is scheduled for 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the UVI-SBDC Training Facility on St. Thomas. The presenter is Daryl Edwards, business counselor at the UVI-SBDC. Admission is $20 at the door. If you pre-register, you receive a $5 discount. UVI students, staff, and faculty with proper I.D. will be admitted free, however, pre-registration is required.
It is recommended that business owners or potential business owners have a business plan. This seminar will teach the basics of how to come up with the numbers that are in your business plan. It is a great guide for the day- to-day operations of your business; however, it is mandatory if you want to borrow money from a bank. Be proactive instead of reactive. Remember, an ounce of prevention is cheaper than a pound of cure. Come ready to start writing your plan.
This seminar will also allow you to refresh yourself if you already have the basics of writing a business plan.
