Maho Bay Gallery Hosts Photography Show

Jan. 24, 2007 – A special showing of impressionistic seascape and landscape images by St. John winter resident and photographer Bob Lefferts will be held from 4:30 – 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Maho Bay Camp Art Gallery.
It will be the second photography show to be held at Maho and will feature a group of new photographic images inspired by the work of impressionist artists. "We are thrilled to feature Bob's work at our gallery once again," says Melody Smith, gallery manager. "His powerful images reflect the natural beauty of the island which are illuminated in the outdoor setting of Maho's gallery."
Lefferts calls his pictures MotionScapes since they show the landscapes and seascapes in motion. The pure beauty of the environment is captured by intentionally blurring the detail of the scene by moving the camera horizontally. MotionScapes are intentionally blurred images that capture the serenity and beauty of light, shape and color to enhance the viewer's own artistic imagination.
In commenting on his new work, Lefferts said "I am delighted to show these large seascape and landscape images at Maho Bay Camp since I consider them to be consistent with Maho's philosophy of making it possible to enjoy the serenity and beauty of nature in an authentic eco-friendly setting."
His work can be seen at the Spinnato Gallery, where he currently has a one-man show, the VSJ Gallery, and the Detmer Gallery all in Long Island, NY as well as at the St. John Art Association Gallery on St. John. Beginning March 3, he will have a show by the Gallery St. Thomas, which will be presented at Alexander's Bella Bleu restaurant in Frenchtown.
Also come enjoy the dinner entrees at Maho's Pavilion Restaurant–Wednesday is Italian night!
