June 26, 2007 — The Department of Labor announced Tuesday it will close its Frederiksted office and consolidate it with the Sunny Isles office.
"We are actually consolidating our offices to make better use of limited federal funding and serve our customers more expeditiously," said Commissioner of Labor Albert Bryan Jr., according to a news release from the department.
Effective Monday, the Divisions of Job Service and Unemployment Insurance offices currently located at 302 King St., Frederiksted, will relocate to the Department of Labor at Sunny Isle Shopping Center, Store No. 4.
To facilitate the transition, the Frederiksted location will continue to provide services on a limited basis from 8 a.m. to noon through Friday of this week. Normal operations for Frederiksted residents and other clients will resume on Monday at the Sunny Isle location, according to the release.
Bryan expressed regret for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their support and cooperation. For more information on programs and services, contact the Divisions of Job Service and Unemployment Insurance on St. Croix at 773-1440 or visit its website at vidol.gov.
