June 26, 2007 – The 2007 Gifft School graduation ceremony was held on June 14, at Annaberg Ruins. It heralded the entrance to a new passage of life for the beaming graduates, and it marked the end of a seven-year era for the heroic founders of the school, Scott and Sabrina Crawford. Headmaster Ben Biddle asked the class to elect this year's commencement speaker, and their unanimous choice was "Mr. Scott." It was a heartfelt tribute to the many contributions of this beneficent couple.
Biddle introduced the seven graduates, four of whom have been with the school since the seventh grade. He cited their "deep-rooted respect for – and cultivation of – the individual student." He admired their goodwill toward one another and their self-reliance.
Then he launched into a special benediction personalized for each student, causing many parents and well wishers to reach for their handkerchiefs. Some of what he said follows.
Ishkanian "Dale" Ferdinand is "a most refined soul with an incredible knack for technology."
Joseph Guastaferro is "a young man of great wit and great integrity."
Rachel Kitchen "has this sparkle; she is alive with spirit and curiosity."
Jason Moloney, valedictorian, is "insatiable in his will to see beyond the surface."
Kendia Louis will be remembered for "her rich humor, her formidable opinions and her deep-seated confidence."
Emmanuel Christian is "a jolly fellow and a great wit to boot, blessed with charisma and smarts."
Jill Martin, winner of the School Spirit Award, "has varied talents on which she can call, foreseeing significant creative success in her future."
