Arts Alive to Hold Its 28th Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival

Oct. 29, 2007 – ARTS ALIVE presents the 28th Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival, a fun-filled weekend with great opportunities to get holiday shopping started. Come see the work of local artists, listen to the sounds of wonderful local musicians, see demonstrations first hand and get kids involved in art. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday, Nov. 23, 24 and 25, at Tillett Gardens.
Children will have a chance to create their own artwork in the Kid's Corner during the show from noon to 4 p.m., in the lobby of Pistarckle Theatre. Music will start at noon and continue throughout the day until 4 p.m.
Gift ideas will include watercolors, acrylic and oil paintings, silk screen island maps, handmade beaded jewelry, sterling silver, gold and seaglass jewelry, ceramics, historic dolls, herbal candles and soaps, Afro-centric creations, handcrafted purses, homemade sauces, plants and calabash crafts, handmade Christmas ornaments, sand art, photography, handmade soaps and lotions, and so much more. There will be lots of food for sale from stores and restaurants such as Jack's Restaurant, Harriett Mercer and Treasures of Zion.
