Martin Luther King Day Picnic for Peace

Jan. 14, 2008 – The St. John Community Crisis Center invites the community to a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a Picnic for Peace. The Center is dedicated to preserving his ideals and keeping the dream alive.
The picnic will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 21, at National Park Ball Field. The center invites all community groups to set up a tent or table to represent their organizations. The event will feature reggae band Inner Visions, free food and drinks, a dunk tank, fun and games, arts and crafts and much more.
Volunteers are needed for many things, such as playing games with kids, doing arts and crafts, running the dunk tank, helping to clean up, and helping to set up and break down. Also, chairs, tables and tents are needed.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Catikawa or Zarah at 693-7233.
