May 21, 2008 – Police have identified the man found shot to death near the Smith Bay ball park Sunday as Fritz Geffrard, 49, of Haiti.
Geffrard was found shot multiple times at 12:08 a.m. Unresponsive, according to a statement from the Police, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call the Major Crime Unit at 715-5534, 715-5543 or the chief’s office at 715-5548, or simply call 911.
Police Commissioner James H. McCall has authorized a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in this case.
