June 20, 2008 – The Morris F. deCastro Fellowship Board has announced the deadline to apply for the Morris F. deCastro Fellowship Award is June 30. Applicants must meet the following requirements, according to a press release from the V.I. Board of Education.
1) Be a bona-fide resident of the Virgin Islands
2) Be an employee or official in active service of the government of the Virgin Islands at the time of application
3) Have made an outstanding contribution during the preceding year
4) Been accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning
5) Be nominated by either the governor of the V.I., the president of the Legislature, the presiding judge of the district or territorial courts, the administrator of St. John or the head of any executive department
Interested persons should submit a letter of application and the appropriate nomination letter to the fellowship board in care of Chairman of the V.I. Board of Education at P.O. Box 11900, St. Thomas, V.I. 00801
