The Forum Will Present Cartoonist Keith Knight Doing Stand Up Comedy

0

The Forum is bringing Keith Knight, an award-winning cartoonist and the creator of three national comic strips, to talk about his work. The cartoonist will appear at Prior-Jollek Hall on the Antilles School Campus at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11.
Describing his show in his own words, Knight said, "Keef takes the audience on a swift ride through his favorite comics over the years, taking on sexism, racism, police brutality, censorship, the environment, the U.S. Government and civic responsibility in what can only be described as stand-up comedy with visual aids."
He is the creator of three comic strips: "The Knight Life," syndicated daily by United Features; the weekly single panel "(th)ink," and his weekly autobiographical "K Chronicles," which won the 2007 Harvey Award for Best Comic Strip and the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Glyph Award for Best Comic Strip. His work has been collected in nine books, with the latest a 500-page "K Chronicles" collection (Dark Horse).
Tickets are $25, on sale at Reichhold Center for the Arts (693-1559), Dockside Bookshop, Interiors (Ft, Mylner) and Home Again (Red Hook Plaza).
