Oct. 22, 2008 – St. Croix Landmarks Society presents the 23rd annual Candlelight Concert Series, which begins on Nov. 7 and 8, with soprano Greta Feeney and pianist Robert Behrman.
Robert Behrman was educated at Marshal University, Indiana University and Webster University, and his teachers have included Dr. James, organist Albert Zabel, Daniel Schene, Dr. Karen Taylor and the respected Italian pianist, Enrica Cavallo-Gulli. An active chamber musician, he has given recitals at Marshal, Kentucky, Indiana, Webster and Washington Universities, as well as numerous concerts in the Midwest and Northeast.
As an active composer, Behrman has had a long collaboration with the novelist and poet Wallace Knight, and the resulting works have been performed throughout the southern United States, as well as at the Franco American Institute in Rennes, France. A church musician from the age of 16, Behrman recently assumed duties as the music director at the First Congregational Church of Nantucket. He also serves on the faculty of the Nantucket Music School and has been the music director the Nantucket Theater Workshop's productions of Godspell and Cinderella.
