Innovative Offers Customers Alternate Ways to Reach Service Representatives

Oct. 31 – In an effort to alleviate congestion at its customer service center, Innovative is reminding the public there are several ways for customers to communicate their service problems to the company.
"Restoration work on St. Croix is progressing smoothly in the aftermath of Hurricane Omar, especially in the area of telephone service," Innovative President and CEO E. Clarke Garnett said. "However, there are areas that may have been restored and one or two customers may still be out of service. Those calls combined with new callers who are now finding out their cable television services are not working are overtaxing the system."
According to Garnett, the 912 repair number has a finite number of calls which it can sustain on the system; after that, it will drop calls holding for too long and not answer new calls.
"We work to give each customer the individual service required, and some calls take longer than others. That's why we are encouraging customers to try calling 912 or 778-1742 for repairs first. But they can also call 779-9999, e-mail us at [email protected] or go to www.innovativetelephone.com . Customers are reminded to include their telephone or Cable TV account number, address, the problem they are experiencing, a contact number, and brief directions.
"As we have previously indicated, we have restored 75 percent of cable television service disrupted by the storm, but there are still areas on the east end of St. Croix and the coastal areas where plant services were nearly totaled," Garnett said. "For this reason, we would like to extend an offer to all of our customers to join us at the Innovative Business Center at Sunny Isles on Election Night Tuesday, November 4 to view election results."
The company is also joining with local non-profit group Generation Now as sponsors of that group's event to view election results at Teddy's Party Rental beginning at 7 p.m.
PowerNet DSL Internet customers whose telephone service is restored but continue to experience problems should call 714-3700 to make a report.
