VICARE to Hold 5-Mile Walk Through the Rainforest

Dec. 4, 2008 – Virgin Islands Community AIDS Resource and Education Inc. will hold its annual 5-mile "A Walk for Life" through the rainforest in Frederiksted, on Saturday, Dec. 6., to raise funds to fight HIV/AIDS. The walk will start and end at the Lawaetz Museum, Little La Grange, on Mahogany Road.
Registration will start at 6:30 a.m., and there will be an opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m.. The walk will begin at 7:45 a.m.
VICARE asks for a minimum donation of $10. Pledge forms are available from VICARE, No. 43 Queen Street, Christiansted or by going to: www.vicareinc.org. Dr. Raymond and Sayra Cintron of St. Croix Gastroenterology Center, LLC are sponsoring the event.
There will also be a raffle for and all-expenses-paid trip for two to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Tickets for the raffle are $10, and can be purchased at VICARE.
Proceeds benefit VICARE, which is a nonprofit organization that provides HIV'AIDS prevention services, education, and testing to the St. Croix community, as well as support services for those living with HIV/AIDS. For more information, call 692-9111.
