Army National Guard Pvt. Kalila C. Roberts/St. Thomas and St. John
Jan. 30, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army National Guard Pvt. Kalila C. Roberts has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values. She received instruction and practice in physical fitness, basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Laverne Roberts of John's Folly, St. John, Virgin Islands, and Allen Roberts Sr. of Contant Towers, St. Thomas, V.I.
Roberts is a 1999 graduate of Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, St. Thomas.
Army Pfc. Winston H. Cartier/St. Thomas
Feb. 2, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army Pfc. Winston H. Cartier has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
He is the son of Jennifer King of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Cartier is a 2008 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Air Force Airman Yancy Y. Nunez/St. Croix
Feb. 6, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Air Force Airman Yancy Y. Nunez has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies. He performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Rosario Guzman of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands, and cousin of Shakira Gautier of Strawberry Hill, Christiansted, V.I.
The airman is a 2008 graduate of St. Croix Educational Complex, Christiansted.
Air Force Airman Giovanni Greenidge/St. Croix
Feb. 6, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Air Force Airman Giovanni Greenidge has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies. He performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Jackqulin Brown of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands.
Giovanni is a 2008 graduate of Saint Croix Educational Complex, Frederiksted.
Air Force Airman Nisha Encarnacion/St. Croix
Feb. 11, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Air Force Airman Nisha Encarnacion has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree relating through the Community College of the Air Force.
She is the daughter of Zena Encarnacion of Constitution Hill, Christiansted, Virgin Islands.
Encarnacion is a 2006 graduate of St. Croix Central High School, Kings Hill, V.I.
Army Pvt. Judith E. Rogers/St. Croix
Feb. 11, 2009 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army Pvt. Judith E. Rogers has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Catherine Brand of Roland Lane, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and sister of Kenny Rogers of Newworks, Kingshill, Virgin Islands.
Rogers is a 2008 graduate of Bay Port High School, Green Bay, Wis.
