Human Services Joins Department of Education to Assist Children with Disabilities

0

May 9, 2009 – The Department of Human Services will partner with the Department of Education to provide free screenings in speech, hearing and development for pre-school aged children.
“Child Find” enables parents who are concerned about their child’s development to be screened by certified therapists. This territory-wide search for children with disabilities takes place twice annually. Human Services benefits from this effort to enroll children into the Head Start Program, which provides services to children with disabilities from ages 3 through 5, according to a press release from Human Services.
The screenings will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Friday, May 15, at the Curriculum Center in Tutu across from the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
