The Charlotte Amalie High School Music Department presents its Annual Spring Concert on Sunday, at 6:30 p.m., May 17, in the Ruth E. Thomas Auditorium. This year's musical production is titled "The Flavor of Spring," which will feature a complete compliment of the school's performing ensembles. The following will perform:
· The Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Francis Callwood, will present songs from the contemporary era. V.I. Carnival Queen Karence DeCosta will be the featured performer
· The Jazz Ensemble, also directed by Francis Callwood, will liven up the scene with their funky style music
· The Mello Hawks Steel Ochestra, directed by Leroi Simmonds, will offer Carnival 2009 renditions
· The Concert and Symphonic Band, under the direction of Georgia Francis, will round out the evening with uplifting selections fresh from the inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Tickets are on sale at the Music Department at $10 for adults and $5 for students. The entire community is invited to support the talented musicians at CAHS and savor "the flavor of spring."
