June 2, 2009 – Sybil Gumbs died on May 22, at Schneider Regional Medical Center. She was 85 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Gumbs; sons: William, Colin and Reuben Gumbs; daughters: Elmira Mockett, Susan Gumbs-Maynard and Barbara Gumbs; brothers: Michael and Desmond Connor; sister, Marilyn Chinnery; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including: Sheila Tatem, Urbane Chinnery, Matthew Connor and Edison Chinnery; special friend, Rosalia Potter; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 4, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Western Cemetery No. 2.
