June 16, 2009 – Anselmo Codrington Carrington Sr., also known as "Galento" or "Galee," of Queen Cross Street died on June 8. He was 76 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Daisy Carrington; daughters: Verna Codrington Harvey, Sheridan Codrington De'Grasse and Margaret Codrington Dalton; adopted daughter, Cynthia Conner; sons: Anselmo Codrington Jr. and Bernard Dale Carrington; and grandchildren: Kareem, Kavida and Kyron de'Grasse, Mashama, Uriel Jr., Jamila, Khari, Joshua, Reina and Raymond Codrington, and Indilacia, Natalia and Jasmine Dalton, Andre Harvey, Leanna, LaDania, DeLani, D'Jante, LaDia, Nayheem, Jahmiel, Erin, Dale, Dahlia and Shamal Carrington; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by daughters-in-law: Rhona Codrington and Erica Carrington; son-in-law, Wayne Harvey; sister-in-law, Sheila Andrews; special friends: Doctor and Mrs. deChabert, Tal Edney, Luis Brown, Pat, Iris Browne, Warren Estrada, Esther Walcott, Doreen Gerard, and the Rodriquez, Soto, Knight and Glasford families, and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 19, at St. John's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at the Christiansted Cemetery.
