Kathleen Hildred Blackman Gaskin Francis, also known as “Scottland Yard” or “Special K,” died on Nov. 25, in Miami, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Alphonse Francis; mother, Hildred Francis; daughters: Kareema Gaskin and Kristal Francis; stepdaughters: Azara and Peaches Francis; sons: Karl II and Kleon Gaskin; stepson, Courtney Francis; grandchildren: Kadiann, Kattina, Karl II and Kleshelle Gaskin, and Kanif Wathey; godmother, Kathleen Oloughlin; daughters-in-law: Cherrian and Michelle Gaskin; sister, Yvonne Isles; brothers: Everton Blackman, Kenneth, Jason and Steven Kuff Francis Sr.; sister-in-law, Verna Blackman; and brother-in-law, Charles Isles Sr. She is also survived by nieces: Karleen Henry, Andrea, Niome, Shakenla, Kenila and Kenisha Francis, and Okiesha Isles; nephews: Charles Jr., Sheldon, Randal and Dexter Isles, and Stephen Jr., Sheriff and Dishawn Francis; great nieces: Kyla and Kierra Henry, Alyana Beaupierre and Reniyah Isles; great nephews: Glenn and Gerard Thomas; aunts: Carmen Williams, Inid Gerard, and Ursil, Veronica and Dorine Queley; uncles: Joseph Williams, Kenneth Merchant, Berneth Stancliff, Walferd Queley and Cyril Illidge; special friends: the ICU night staff, WRRA family, Seventh-day Adventist and St. Joseph Class, Kelly Girls and Kokonut Kafe’ crew; many adopted children; adopted mother, Sherrill Richardson; and many other relatives and special ones whose lives she changed who are too numerous to mention.
The family requests that those attending the funeral service wear festive colors.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Friedensberg Moravian Church, Frederiksted. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
