The St. Croix Environmental Association and the University of the Virgin Islands present the PBS “Journey to Planet Earth” series film “The State of the Planet,” narrated by Matt Damon and produced by award-winning filmmakers Marilyn and Hal Weiner. It will happen at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at the UVI Theatre, EVC 401.
The documentary looks at how population, climate change and economic pressures affect the world’s resources such as food and water. Current programs and success stories will leave viewers with a sense of hope. It was filmed in Kenya, India, Israel, Bangladesh, the Amazon, Mexico, China and the United States. Following the film, guest speaker Paul Chakroff will facilitate a group discussion.
