FEMA Seeks New Council Members

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is looking for 12 emergency management professionals to serve on its National Advisory Council, according to a press release from Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen. This council position is for a three-year term and specifically seeking individuals in emergency management, public health, emergency medical provider, standard settings, disability, access and functional needs, state non-elected official and tribal non-elected official. They will meet quarterly to discuss and make recommendations on FEMA plans and strategies.

For individuals interested in being considered for an appointment to the council, detailed information on how to apply is at www.fema.gov/about/nac. Applicants will need to submit a resume or curriculum vitae detailing their experience in the arena of emergency management or a related field, list the discipline area for which they are applying and provide letter of recommendation. The deadline for applying is 5 p.m. on March 5.
