Virgin Islands Daily News newspaper columnist, community activist and Oglethorpe University professor Devin Robinson is scheduled to give the keynote address at Parent University. The commencement exercises will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, at John H. Woodson Jr. High School on St. Croix. Community leaders, elected officials and other supporters are expected to attend. The event is free and open to the public.

Parent University, an initiative sponsored by the Department of Education, will hold its fifth class of graduating parents who have successfully completed their program. Devin “Dutchie” Robinson, a well-known native Virgin Islander, has been tapped again to deliver the keynote speech. Robinson stated, “I am thrilled to be invited as a speaker to Parent University. Being the keynote speaker last Saturday where the Delta Sigma Theta sorority honored five men from our community and one week later speaking to parents who willingly enrolled and completed an effective program like this only shows that we are committed to solving our territory’s problems from unconventional angles. I feel we are headed in the right direction.”
