Police on St. Thomas arrested four persons and confiscated a firearm during the holiday weekend. Arrested were 22-year-old Komorr Donastorg, 19-year-old Jeffrey Carty, 19-year-old Ahmoi Lewis and 27-year-old Akeem Daniel.
St. Thomas natives Donastorg, Carty and Lewis were arrested and charged with Constructive Possession of a Firearm. According to the police report, on Monday, May 31 at about 4:40 p.m. police were notified of a male brandishing a firearm in the Magens Bay area. Police made an inspection of the area but were unable to locate the suspects. However, a vehicle matching the description of the one occupied by the suspect and two other persons was detained by Superior Court Marshals who were on the beach during the incident.
While conducting a consent search, police discovered and confiscated a .45 mm handgun from inside the vehicle. The suspects all denied ownership of the firearm and were charged with Constrictive Possession of a Firearm.
Bail for Donastorg, Carty and Lewis was set at $10,000 each and they were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives said Ahmoi Lewis is presently on pre-trial release since his arrest in April on a previous charge of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm.
On Saturday, May 29 at about 11:30 p.m. Akeem Daniel was arrested and charged with Contempt of Court after he violated his restraining order by assaulting his girlfriend in the Hospital Ground area. Bail was denied because of the Domestic Violence charge.
