The Caribbean Lionfish Program by CORE on St. Thomas has recently captured its 100th fish since April. John Rubattino of the CORE foundation will begin a St. Thomas’s lionfish diver-training program, which will be a presentation of Level 1 participation in a group-led systematic search. It will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 12, at the Windward Passage Hotel on the Waterfront Downtown. This free training is mandatory for those who wish to participate on any lionfish search dive on St. Thomas, St. John or St. Croix.

Participants need not be a certified diver, but it is preferred to help with this important effort. If you are certified, please bring with you the following:
1. Diving Certification card
2. Bring a digital photo of yourself from the shoulders up on a USB drive. Name the file on the drive with your name, (first and last with a space between). If you cannot get a picture of yourself, we will be able to accommodate you, but it is highly recommended.
