0

The University of the Virgin Islands – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center in collaboration with Innovative Communications Corp. (ICC) is inviting public high school students to participate in a free program designed to improve SAT scores. Students are urged to apply to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) program. There will be two nine-week sessions that will be held from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday beginning Jan. 15, 2011 and ending on June 11. Classes will be held on UVI’s St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses.
Launched in 2005, the UVICELL/ICC SAT Prep Program provides students with tips and strategies to improve their test-taking skills. They are tracked from their freshman year through their senior year and are given classroom instruction and a series of mock-exams.
Applicants must be ninth or tenth-grade public high school students with a GPA of 2.0 to 3.5. Interested applicants must submit their applications to the UVICELL Center by Friday, Dec. 3, to be considered for the program. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
For more information or to request an application, call 693-1106 or visit cell.uvi.edu.
