V.I. RC&D Hosts Youth Conservation Entrepreneurship Retreat

0

The Virgin Islands Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. (V.I. RC&D), in partnership with the AMPS Entrepreneurship & Leadership Institute, is launching a premier program entitled “Youth Conservation Entrepreneurial Retreat – MISSION POSSIBLE!” Twenty-one V.I. youth, ages 14-19, will participate in this intensive, hands-on training event to be held Dec. 15-17, at the Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort. The retreat empowers youth by teaching them about entrepreneurship, leadership, social responsibility and conservation – all of which are core values embodied within V.I. RC&D. Through a series of presentations, keynote speeches, and intense business principal instruction, these youth will learn about conservation, agriculture, entrepreneurship and business first-hand.
The AMPS program is addressed toward young adults eager to develop themselves and their entrepreneurial talents. The culmination of the program will be the Business Showcase and Awards Ceremony – a public presentation showcasing the youths’ conservation and entrepreneurial ideas in front of a panel of judges at which the top two businesses will win seed capital for their business ventures! Furthermore, the winner of the business plan competition also will receive a full scholarship to the week-long Ultimate Life Entrepreneurship Summit (to be held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in mid-July), where over 100 youth from 12 countries will be learning essential lessons about business, leadership, and social responsibility.
