Officials from the Departments of Health, and Licensing and Consumer Affairs will host town hall meetings territory-wide beginning Tuesday, Jan. 25, on the smoking ban signed into law by Gov. John P. de Jongh Jr. last year.
“This will be an opportunity for residents as well as business owners to be educated on the new smoke-free law, as well as the health effects of smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke,” Health Commissioner Julia Sheen said.
In order to give residents and business owners sufficient time to become educated on the Smoke-Free Act, Sheen extended the implementation date for enforcement of the ban from Nov. 10, 2010 to Feb. 10, 2011.
The schedules for the meetings are as follows:

6 – 8 p.m. – Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Palm’s Court Harbourview
