The Caribbean Genealogy Library Inc. (CGL) will hold its annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at Randy’s Restaurant on Raphune Hill.
The guest speaker will be Trevor Milner, local historian, and chair of the St. Thomas Historical Trust’s Step Street Project. His talk will be entitled “The Step Streets of Charlotte Amalie” and will cover the history and uniqueness of Charlotte Amalie’s step streets, and their need and relevance in today’s St. Thomas. He will also highlight some of the personalities and people who lived on the step streets based on the most recent initiative by the CGL to display the historical records of the step street neighborhoods.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
CGL’s mission is to identify, preserve and provide access to Caribbean genealogy, history and cultural heritage information resources and to promote and encourage their use for family history documentation, education and scholarship. CGL is funded through its membership fees and tax-exempt contributions.
