Stealers ace Sam Ramos was his usual dominant self against Set It Off.The Bob Owens Slow Pitch Softball League defending champion Seaborne Stealers sent a strong message with a 14-3 shellacking of Set it Off Tuesday night at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park.

The champs, yet to lose a game in the 2011 half of the regular season ended their regular season on a 14-game winning streak, letting the rest of the league know that all roads to the 2010-2011 championship goes through them.

The contest, the night cap of two games played, was over quite early as the Stealers erupted for 12 runs in the top of the first inning before cruising to the easy victory.

It was the Stealers with 14 runs on 18 hits and two errors, while Set It Off finished with three runs on eight hits and four errors. Ace pitcher Sam Ramos allowed just three runs on eight hits in picking up the victory, while Julio Carmona got the loss.

Top batters for the Stealers were Enrique Soto (3 for 3 with two home runs and four RBIs) and Ronald Schjang (3 for 3 with three RBIs). For Set It Off, Carmona and Enercido Bon were both 1 for 2 with a home run and an RBI apiece.

In the night’s other contest, Softball Inc. hammered the Dirty Dozen 18-3 in a 15-run mercy ruled contest. It was Softball Inc. with 18 runs on 18 hits and three errors, while the Dirty Dozen finished with three runs on eight hits and three errors. The winning pitcher was Bill Harris, and Steve Nisky got the loss.

Top batters for the winners were Leo Reyes (4 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs) and Angel Guzman (3 for 3 with two home runs and four RBIs). For the Dirty Dozen, Jeff Elvins was 1 for 2 with a home run and one RBI, and Mike Pede was 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs.
