DPNR Holds Promotional Campaign Contest for High Schoolers

0

The Department of Planning and Natural Resources has created a unique opportunity for high school students to participate in the promotion and success of the St. Croix East End Marine Park (STXEEMP). All St. Croix high school students are invited to compete in this promotional campaign contest that will involve creating a radio ad, a newspaper ad, and a 30-second television ad promoting marine environmental awareness and stewardship in the community.
The judging criteria will be based upon: (1) organization (is the idea clear and consistent?), (2) coherence (how well the idea is communicated) and (3) attractiveness (how creative is the idea?).
The application deadline is Friday, April 15. All entries must be submitted by May 13.
The St. Croix East End Marine Park and its partners will judge each of the promotional campaign as a group and will declare a winner after a formal presentation that will be held on Wednesday, May 18. The winning group of students will be flown to Miami, Florida, this fall, to present their winning promotional campaign at the 25th Bi-Annual meeting of the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force (USCRTF).
