Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on Tuesday arrested 19-year-old Tristan Joseph of Estate Frydenhoj for attempted murder in the March 8 shooting of a man at Frydenhoj ballpark.

Joseph has also been charged with first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment.

Joseph was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and his bail was set at $100,000.

According to the police report filed March 8, police were called to the Frydenhoj ballpark to investigate a shooting victim. When they arrived, they found the victim was being transported to the Roy Schneider Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

The victim was uncooperative with police at that time, police said. Detectives continued to investigate the case and positively identified Joseph as the shooter.

Police Chief Rodney F. Querrard Sr. congratulated the detectives for closing this case.

“Even though the victim was uncooperative in this case, good police work, coupled with information received from the community, eventually led to the apprehension of this suspect,” the chief said.
