Teaching Children With Autism Workshops Offered Free for Parents

Teaching children with autism using applied behavioral analysis (ABA) will be presented by Dr. Julie Knap, Ph.D., BCBA-D of the Knap Center for Childhood Development. ABA therapy has been proven to reverse symptoms of autism. Free training workshops are offered for parents who have a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The trainings are sponsored by the Governor’s Children and Families Council, Virgin Islands Department of Human Services, V.I. Developmental Disabilities Council, the Governor’s ADA Office and V.I. Autism Network.
The training on St. Croix will be held from 8 a.m. until noon, May3-6, at the Cardiac Center, Breakfast is included.
On St. Thomas It will be held from 8 a.m. until noon, May9-12 at Sugar Estate Head Start Conference Center. Breakfast is included.
