It’s an egg hunt with a twist. The Humane Society of St. Thomas announces a fund-raising event to benefit SNIP (Spay – Neuter Island Pets), which provides low-cost rates for spaying or neutering of pets and feral cats.
Drawing inspiration from the Easter holiday, which it immediately precedes, the "Evening Eggstravaganza Event" will take place from 6:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the Old Stone Farmhouse. The Old Stone Farmhouse Restaurant is located off Route 42 / Mahogany Run Road.
There will be a complimentary Banfi wine-tasting and hors d’oeuvres. Each person attending the benefit selects an egg, inside of which will be a coupon valid for a free prize. In addition, raffle prizes will include a basket of products from H20 Plus, sea-derived skincare products and other donations from local merchants. Grateful thanks to Banfi Vintners and Old Stone Farmhouse for making this event possible as well as all the supporters and volunteers who share our goal to end the overpopulation.
Admission to the benefit is $50 per person. All proceeds will benefit SNIP, a program working with the Humane Society of St. Thomas, to supplement low-cost spay and neuter services for pet owners and for feral cats. SNIP’s goal, which reflects that of the Humane Society at the local and national levels, is to humanely address the animal overpopulation problem that faces the Virgin Islands. SNIP’s affordable spay – neuter rates, offered at scheduled intervals by advance appointment, make the process more easily affordable for many pet owners who would otherwise not have the financial means to spay or neuter their pets.
