The Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture informs the farming community and the general public that the Abattoir in Estate Nadir on St. Thomas will be closed on Wednesday, May 4, due to the scheduled carnival activities. Therefore, the facility will not be accepting animals on Tuesday, May 3. Instead, the department will accept animals on Monday, May 2, and slaughtering will be conducted on Tuesday, May 3, according to a press release issued on April 26 by Agriculture.
The staff and management of the Department of Agriculture regret any inconvenience that this schedule change may cause.
