CMCArts Changes Schedule of Events

0

As its "season" winds down, Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts has made some changes in its previously announced schedule.
First, the Bully Peterson exhibit originally scheduled to open this week has been postponed until September. Instead, CMCArts is moving up a planned exhibit by Barbara Gelardi, which will run from May into the summer. Save the date for the opening on Friday, May 13. A special invite will be sent out prior to the event with details.
Those who have not been down to see Transfer 2011 in the upstairs gallery, should do so by May 21, the closing date for the exhibit. A collaborative installation by Edgar Endress, Janet Cook-Rutnik, and Lori Lee in the upstairs gallery, the exhibit evokes critical thinking about the processes of migration in the islands. Visitors are invited to explore the history and the present nature of migration with a central focus being the transfer of the islands from the Danish to the United States in 1917.
In the downstairs gallery, the Art Exhibition and Sale of local artists’ work has been held over by popular demand. Works include a wide variety of medium and subject appeal to almost everyone’s taste. The exhibit will be up through May 5 and all works are for sale.
And for the kids Story Telling Tuesdays are being held from 3-4 p.m. in the museum courtyard. Come enjoy Ivelisse and her wonderful sharing of great stories for children. Open for ages 5-9.
