Father’s Day Workshop at Ridge to Reef Farm: How to Build With Bamboo

0

Learn hands-on bamboo craft from Jo Scheer from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, from at Ridge to Reef Farm. Scheer, a bamboo master, is the author of "How to Build with Bamboo." This can be seen as a Father’s Day activity to make a memory and pick up some new skills working with the world’s most versatile plant.
He made a name for himself through years of bamboo craft that led to his natural home design starting of the "world’s smallest footprint" for what the Travel Channel called the "World’s Greatest Treehouse." He invented these bamboo "hooches" in Rincon, Puerto Rico, and has been teaching and building them around the world.
Scheer will focus on smaller bamboo crafts to teach the principals in a one-day workshop that will open up participants to the world of bamboo building. Mom’s and daughters are also welcome.
A fresh farm lunch from Ridge to Reef Farm will be included. The cost is $45 for adults. For children 18 and younger, the cost is $25.
