Innovative, the oldest cable television system in the Caribbean, is kicking off an exciting new partnership with Youth Lifeline America – USVI Chapter to bring educational and empowering resources to the territory.
Youth Lifeline America, a non-profit organization that harnesses the powerful influences of athletes, entertainers and business professionals to teach valuable skills to become more positive and productive citizens, has been hosting programs across the United States since 2000. Last year, it began programming in the territory including the largest toy giveaway in U.S. Virgin Islands history among its credentials.
“We are very pleased to begin our dynamic partnership to empower youth of this territory”, said Roland Williams, CEO of Youth Lifeline America. “We believe that Innovative is a tremendous company that is committed to improving the territory as a whole. Our unique programming combined with celebrity integration is a winning platform to assist with their efforts.”
The Weekend of Champions, Presented by Innovative is the first activation of this partnership. This charitable weekend will include their award-winning Life Skills Camps, scheduled for July 15-17 at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas. Participants will receive expert football and fitness training from celebrities, while local and international business professionals provide educational mentorship in areas including career development, conflict resolution, diversity training, esteem development, financial literacy, drug prevention, gang violence, leadership and team building. In a unique twist, this year’s camps will also include Department of Tourism training in its curriculum.
Additionally, the weekend will include the Pure White Party, an exciting event to benefit charity. This event will be hosted by celebrities from the NFL and Hollywood, and will include a full open bar, food, entertainment and Grammy Award-winning DJ Spinderella.
