Poets for Change Hold International Event

0
Poets worldwide will unite for an historic "100 Thousand Poets for Change" event, Saturday, Sept. 24. Join Opal Palmer Adisa at 6 p.m. in Frederiksted by Clock Tower. Bring a poem to read that speaks to positive change.
Poets in 400 cities representing 95 countries are currently organizing the largest poetry reading in history with over 500 individual events scheduled to take place simultaneously on Saturday, Sept. 24 to promote environmental, social and political change.
The poet Percy Shelley wrote “Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of mankind.” Poets all over the world will unite projecting messages to stimulate planetary change in support of sustainability and peace. All those involved are hoping, through their actions and events, to seize and redirect the political and social dialogue of the day and turn the narrative of civilization towards peace and sustainability.
