The Virgin Islands Advisory Panel on Special Education (VIAPSE) will be meeting at Carambola Beach Resort on St. Croix, from Dec. 7-9, to continue its discussions on how to address the unmet needs of special education students throughout the territory. This meeting will include a presentation from a Southeast Regional Resource Center representative, who will be providing the panel with technical assistance in crafting its annual performance report, according to a press release from the V.I. Department of Education.
State Special Education staff will also be presenting new data included in the 2011-2012 annual performance report, and updating both the panel and the public on the status of improvement activities that could improve student results in the various areas covered by the report.
The meetings, which are open to the public, will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 4:30 p.m. on the first two days. The final day’s session will end at noon.
