Irene Francis, native of Otto’s New Town (Antigua), also known as “Mom” or “Ms. Irene,” died at the Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged. She was 94 years old.
She is survived by her sons: Denfield and Clifton Thomas, Joseph Odlum and Eustace Rose; preceded in death by son, Vincent Thomas; daughters-in-law: Brenda, Heather and Jesmine Thomas, Avarille Odlum and Janice Rose; grandchildren: Calson, Henderson, Beverly, Arminthia, Athena, Gordia, Joel, Calvin, Cicely, Denise, Hollis, Craig, Kendel, Keturah, Carlie, Vincent, Wendy, Althea and Delly Thomas, Robert, Lowell and Corette Odlum, Desiree, Jillian and Shivonne Rose; preceded in death by granddaughter, Ann Marie Odlum; 42 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by special cousins: Ruthlyn Frederick and family, Fernella Parker and family, Elwood Ashe and family, and Austin York and family; special friends: Sheila Smith and family, Floris Jackson and family, Irene Lewis and family, Yvonne Donowa and family, Cordina Hector and family, Irose Anthony and family, Ruthlyn Matthew and family, Reuben Krauser and family, the Peter’s Rest Seventh-day Adventist Church family, the Richmond Senior Center family; and other friends and relatives too numerous to mention.
Her home going service will be held on Sunday, March 11, at the Peter’s Rest Seventh-day Adventist Church, There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
